The Journey So Far: Building Oklahoma’s Cannabis Hub, Together

The Journey So Far: Building Oklahoma’s Cannabis Hub, Together

by My Store Admin

It’s wild to think how far Weedstraindb has come in just a year. What started as my vision — to make Oklahoma’s cannabis scene more visible, more connected, and more informed — has evolved into a living, growing hub powered by data, creativity, and community.

When this project first started, it was more of a seed than a structure. Over the past six months, the site has gone through a complete transformation — new layouts, deeper strain pages, interactive maps, and data that actually means something to consumers and dispensaries alike. What began as a solo build has turned into something that now serves thousands across the state.

Where I’ve Been

The goal was simple: build a space that bridges the gap between curiosity and clarity. I wanted to create a platform where Oklahomans could explore strains with real context — accurate lineage, effects, and verified grower info — not recycled internet fluff.

It hasn’t been easy. There’ve been countless late nights tweaking code, rebuilding pages, and refining how strains are displayed — all to create a fast, clean, and reliable experience built for cannabis enthusiasts, by one of their own.

By the Numbers

  • Site traffic has grown 240%+
  • Visitors are spending 3x longer exploring strain pages
  • The Oklahoma Strain Power Rankings and interactive map have quickly become fan favorites

Where I’m Headed Next

The next chapter of Weedstraindb is all about depth and connection — adding new growers, refining data systems, and expanding how users can interact with the site.

  • Expanded Map Filters: Find strains and dispensaries by ZIP code, grower, or effect.
  • Community Spotlights: Shining a light on the people behind Oklahoma’s most-loved flower.
  • Smart Discovery Tools: Personalized strain suggestions based on user interests and reviews.

A Call to the Community

WeedStrainDB has always been about us, not just me. The feedback, reposts, DMs, and feature requests I’ve received have shaped this project in ways I couldn’t have predicted.

  • 👉 What do you want to see next?
  • 👉 Which dispensaries or growers deserve a feature?
  • 👉 What strains should make the next Power Rankings list?

Drop a comment, send a DM on Instagram, or email directly through the site — I read every single one.

And if you’ve enjoyed being part of this journey so far, share Weedstraindb.com with a friend, your local dispensary, or anyone who loves the plant. Because that’s how we grow — together.
