Mendo Montage

Classification: Balanced hybrid

Hook:
Mendo Montage is a colorful, resin-heavy Gage Green Genetics hybrid known for purple and lavender flowers, grape candy, dark berries, and a potent long-lasting effect that commonly settles into substantial couch-lock. It is also historically important as the Mendo Montage parent used with OGKB to create Mendo Breath.

Lineage:
Mendo Montage was developed by Gage Green Genetics through a project created with guidance and genetic contributions from the late breeder Jojorizo. The cultivar combines Mendo Purps with Crystal Locomotive F1, a Jojorizo line made from Trainwreck and 1998 Aloha White Widow. Gage Green selected from 12 Mendo Purps females and used a standout Crystal Locomotive male. Mendo Purps contributes purple coloration, grape sweetness, and body relaxation, while Crystal Locomotive adds vigor, cerebral intensity, resin production, and White Widow and Trainwreck complexity.

Aroma / Flavor / Appearance:
Mendo Montage commonly carries grape candy, grape soda, raspberries, dark cherries, sweet flowers, earth, hash, pine, pepper, and occasional dark chocolate or eucalyptus-like accents. Its flavor may begin with grape jam and berry sweetness before finishing with resinous pine, earthy herbs, mild spice, and a creamy or cocoa-like depth. Flowers are generally extremely compact, heavily frosted, and richly colored, with deep purple, lavender, eggplant, and forest-green tones beneath tall white trichomes and orange pistils.

Effects & Use:
Mendo Montage is generally described as euphoric, happy, relaxed, tingly, giggly, body-heavy, and increasingly sleepy. The experience may begin with a mood lift and enhanced appreciation for music, food, or conversation before transitioning into deeper physical calm. Moderate amounts may remain mentally pleasant and sociable, while larger servings can produce pronounced couch-lock and sedation. It is best suited to evening sessions, movies, music, appetite-friendly downtime, or preparing for sleep.

Medical / Wellness Use:
Patients may look to Mendo Montage for stress, anxious feelings, low mood, physical discomfort, muscle tension, spasms, or difficulty sleeping. Its strong body-centered character may appeal to patients seeking substantial relaxation, although the cultivar can become intensely sedating at larger amounts. Inexperienced or THC-sensitive patients may want to begin with a smaller serving and allow its long-lasting effects time to develop.

Grow Notes:
Mendo Montage generally finishes indoors in approximately 8 to 9 weeks and is described by Gage Green Genetics as vigorous, stable, easy to cultivate, and capable of high yields. Plants commonly develop strong side branching, moderate stretch, tight flower stacking, and extremely dense trichome-rich colas. Topping, low-stress training, SCROG cultivation, branch support, and sufficient spacing can help manage its lateral growth. Strong airflow and late-flowering humidity control are especially important because its rock-hard flowers can retain moisture. Cooler nights may intensify purple coloration, but color expression remains dependent on phenotype and environment.

Lab Profile:
Mendo Montage does not have a single standardized breeder-issued cannabinoid percentage. Public profiles commonly place THC from the low-to-mid teens through approximately 20%, with occasional modern selections reported above that range. CBD is generally low, although some profiles report approximately 1%. Expected dominant terpenes may include myrcene and beta-caryophyllene, with possible contributions from limonene, pinene, linalool, and humulene, supporting its grape-like, berry-sweet, earthy, piney, floral, peppery, and deeply relaxing character.

Patient Reminder

Strain names are not enough. Two products with the same strain name can feel different depending on grower, harvest, cure, storage, lab profile, terpene content, and individual biology.
